Governors

The Centennial Parklands Foundation has a Board of Governors in place to oversee the strategic and investment decisions of the entity.

The Board meets quarterly and is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Foundation.

The current Governors of the Centennial Parklands Foundation Board are:



 

Ms Sarah Whyte - Chair

Sarah Whyte is Chair of the Centennial Parklands Foundation. Sarah is the Patron of the Burma Star Association of NSW, and a member of the Australiana Fund. She was formerly a member of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust.

 

Mr Phillip Black
BSc, Dip Ed

Phillip Black is a Surry Hills businessman in the tourism industry. In 1993 he helped establish the South Sydney Heritage Society, currently a Councillor on the Council of the City of Sydney, and Director on the Sydney Community Foundation.  Phillip is a long-time advocate for protecting built heritage and open space.

 

Mr David Butcher
BVSc

David Butcher is the Chief Executive Officer of Greening Australia (NSW). He was previously Chief Executive Officer of the World Wide Fund for Nature and Director of the RSPCA. Mr Butcher has also practiced veterinary science in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia.

 

Mr Geoffrey Cohen
BComm, LLB, CPA (Fellow)

Geoffrey Cohen is a retired former Partner with Minter Ellison Lawyers. Mr Cohen advises on major property acquisitions and disposals. He is also a Fellow of the Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA).

 

Mr Peter Duncan
Cert L&ESD, Grad. Cert Traffic Eng, A.Dip Land. Studies, G.Dip. Mgt.

Peter Duncan is the Chief Executive of Roads and Maritime Services. Formerly, he was the Deputy Director General of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Previous roles include the Director General of the Department of Services, Technology and Administration, Chief Executive Officer of Forests NSW, Director and Chief Executive of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust, and Director Estate Management at Olympic Coordination Authority. Peter has served on a number of Boards and Committees including as Chair of the NSW Marine Parks Authority, Administrator of Jenolan Caves Reserve Trust and is currently on the Council of Trustees for the Parks Forum – an industry leadership organisation.

 

Ms Fran Meagher
BA Dip Ed

Fran Meagher is a Trustee of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust and is the current Chairof the Centennial Parklands Community Consultative Committee. She is the Coordinator for the Veuve Clicquot Award and has been actively involved in fundraising for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and the NSW Art Gallery.

 

Ms Lindley Edwards
BBus (Acc), BBus (Banking/Finance)

Lindley Edwards is currently the Group Managing Director of AFG Venture Group. She is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Ms Edwards is also a non-executive Director and Advisory Board member of various organisations including Asialink and the Asia Society. In addition, she is a Governor of the Centennial Parklands Foundation, Member of the Australian Federal Government Co-Operative Research Committee, and a non-Executive Director of the University of Western Sydney Foundation. In the year 2000 Ms Edwards was admitted to the Australian Businesswomen’s Hall of Fame.

 

Mr Paul Nicolaou
MCom, BA

Paul Nicolaou is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Hotels Association (NSW). He is also currently the NSW President, Associate Fellow and Certified Practising Marketer of the Marketing Institute of Australia and Director of Solutions R Us - a private company specialising in marketing, fundraising, media, public relations and event management. Paul also holds the role of Executive Chairman of the Millennium Forum of the Liberal Party of Australia, NSW Division. The Forum is the fundraising and business engagement arm of the Party. In addition, Paul holds a number of Non executive board positions which includes the Gut Foundation, Hyro and The Roses Only Group. Paul’s marketing and fundraising experience covers all aspects of marketing & development including, alumni relations, community relations, advertising, event management, media relations, capital appeals, commercial sponsorship acquisition, political lobbying and direct marketing. Paul is a respected, experienced fundraiser and marketer. He has an impressive and extensive list of contacts in the political and business arenas.

 

Mr Kim Ellis
MBA, BA(Mil), GradDip HR GAICD FCILT

Kim Ellis was appointed the Director and Chief Executive of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust in February 2011. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of BAC Airports for 9 years, with responsibility for the commercial and operational management of Bankstown and Camden Airports Limited. Prior to this he had key management roles at Sydney Airport Corporation including the Sydney Olympics airport operations in 2000.
