National Tree Day 2008

20 September 2008

Child planting treeThe Centennial Parklands Foundation in conjunction with Planet Ark, held its annual National Tree Day planting on Saturday 20 September, after two previous rain soaked attempts!

On this beautiful Spring morning, three types of native trees were planted on Carrington Drive - Coast Banksia, Forest Red Gum and the Swamp Mahogany. Participants planted their tree of choice with the help of family and friends and our horticulture team were on standby to lend a hand and answer questions.

The Foundation raised $25,000 towards the vital Tree Replacement Program, which aims to replace 60% of the Parklands’ ageing and ailing trees over the next forty years.

To register for National Tree Day in 2009, complete our donate by email category and we will ensure you recieve notification of next year's event details as soon as they are available.

National Tree Day is a great opportunity to gather with family and friends to help protect your Parklands, celebrate an occasion or commemorate someone special. We hope you will join us in 2009.
