Centennial Parklands

Centennial Parklands is holding its first ever plant sale, with all plants grown by the Parklands’ Volunteers, on Saturday 7 May 2011 - just in time for Mother’s Day.
‘Centennial Parklands has a very dedicated group of green thumbs who have been busily producing high quality plants for the Parklands for over two years now. We now want to offer the community the ability to purchase their own little piece of the Parklands for their home gardens,’ said Danyelle Droga, Director Visitor Experience of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust.
The plant sale is being held the day before Mother’s Day, so what better excuse than to pick up an extra special mother’s day gift this year?
All plants sold will be gift-wrapped and cost just $10. Money raised will go towards the Centennial Parklands Foundation to purchase new tools and equipment for the Volunteer Growing Group.
The sale will feature an assortment of plants to choose from, including species propagated from local Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub, to those growing in Centennial Park’s renowned formal garden beds. The plants are grown from seeds and cuttings from local provenance species.
Time: 9.00 am to 12.00 pm
Date: Saturday 7 May 2011
Venue: Turpentine Grove (on Banksia Way), Centennial Park (adjacent Centennial Parklands Dining)
