Centennial Parklands - Leading the way in arboriculture

Posted: 1 August 2011

Centennial Parklands’ Senior Arborist, Ted Hoare, last week guided around 90 members of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) around Centennial Parklands.

Ted and members of the ISA tree tour in the ParklandsThe group toured the Parklands learning about the Parklands’ living collection of trees, and how our arborist team carries out their work developing and managing the tree database, assessments and tree management plans.

The ISA was here in Sydney for their 87th annual international conference – an event usually held in America or Europe, and here in Australia for the first time.

Ted has been a member of the ISA for over 25 years and is a foundation member and life member of the Australian Chapter of the Association. His in-depth knowledge of arboriculture and dedication to his profession provided a diverse and expert insight for the members.

The feedback from the Group was overwhelming positive, with the Parklands collection of trees receiving high praise, and our tree management database  acknowledged as one of the best in the world.

The ISA promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and generates worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees. To read more about the ISA visit their website www.isa-arbor.com
