Green Corps

Green Corps, Young Australians for the Environment, was an Australian Government program offering young people the opportunity to be paid while receiving accredited training working on six month environment and heritage projects.

The Foundation, in partnership with Greening Australia, supported three Green Corps teams to complete a variety of projects including:

  • the removal of European Carp (Cyprinus carpio) from our ponds and restocking with native Bass
  • improving the water quality of the ponds by restoring riparian vegetation
  • native landscaping and slope stabilisation works
  • tree planting
  • plant propagation in the Parklands’ community nursery facility.

Participants attained a Certificate 1 Conservation and Land Management qualification while completing these ecological restoration projects.
