Meet the team

This volunteer project began in February 2004 and has involved the bush regeneration of two remnants of endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub located on York Road, Queens Park and the Bird Sanctuary, Centennial Park.

A team of 20 volunteers have been assisting professional bush regenerators with a range of tasks including manual weed removal, construction of fauna hides, dumped rubbish removal and the relocation of organic debris.

It has also provided the opportunity for volunteers to learn correct regeneration procedures, the ecology of Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub and how to identify invasive weed species.
