Our special thanks this week to Lucy Allan & Family for donating a Yellow Wood tree to Peter James & Elizabeth Allan.
We currently have a volunteer fishing group called "Grass Roots", focusing on reducing the numbers of this pest species in our ponds. The group meets two times per month at different ponds.
Volunteers participate in an induction to learn the specific methods used when fishing on the Parklands’ ponds.
Fishing in Centennial Parklands is only permitted through authorised sessions supervised by Centennial Parklands staff. Volunteers who participate in these programs have an exemption from the regulation prohibiting fishing and are allowed to fish on the ponds.
There are opportunities for corporate groups to come and fish in the Parklands ponds as a team building exercise. See our Corporate Volunteers program for details. We also offer a program to persons with a disability the opportunity to come and fish for free.
