Centennial Parklands
Park users regularly ask how they can help without being committed to a schedule. One way to help the Parklands in a volunteer capacity but in a casual capacity is to attend either alone or in groups to pick up litter.
Centennial Park receives the stormwater runoff from the four surrounding Local Government areas. Not only does the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust need to raise money for servicing of the required Grosse Pollutant Traps but it pays for disposal of the litter trapped.
However, some litter does get through the traps and collects around the edges of our ponds. Volunteers are needed to assist Centennial Parklands with pond litter pickup.
Volunteers will be provided with a site induction, including OH&S briefing, and relevant information about the location they will be working.
