A new home for our black swans

Resident black swans at Kippax Lake in Moore Park have recently been treated to a new habitat, thanks to generous donations to the Legacy Fund last year.

The original pontoon built for the birds was rotten and sinking, so the dedicated team of environmental experts at Centennial Parklands designed an innovative, first of its kind platform, to provide a safe habitat for the beautiful black swans to nest and rear their young – an initiative which is critical for their long-term survival.

We’re immensely grateful to our supporters whose generous gifts to our conservation efforts helped bring this project to life.
